Microsoft Surface Duo. An Android Surface.. Anyone?

Microsoft has introduced an Android phone during Microsoft Surface October 2019 event. Yes it's an Android phone, but in a form of a of a mini laptop. A mini Surface to be exact. It's called Microsoft Surface Duo.

It has dual 5.6 inch screen with 4.3 format. 4.8mm thin and joined by a 360 degree hinge. The right screen consider the main one since it holds the speaker, camera and other connectivity.

Currently it still a prototype and will not available until 2020 holiday season. Most believe that  this will not Surface Duo final design. By the way they customize Android to work side by side or together on both screen, chances are Surface Duo will look more appealing.
Ok.. Here's my opinion about this Microsoft Surface Duo prototype.

1. The lack of outer or external screen. I believe Microsoft is trying to create a new Android base device category. But, with Android communication capability, this device should at least have a small outer screen for calls or whatever incoming messages. Opening a device just to check calls  or messages is consider a waste of time.

2. Screen bezel on hinge side. I think the gap between the two screen on hinge side can be reduced to just 1 or 2 millimeter. This is useful for movies especially.

3. Since there's only one camera. Taking photo not an efficient with this device. Adding another one or two camera would be great. But it really depends on the actual concept that Microsoft wants  to apply to Surface Duo.

Competition.
I don't know if Asus or Lenovo will response to Microsoft Surface Duo, but I believe they have the capability.

Other company that came across my mind is Huawei. Although I believe Huawei is planning a very big thing with their microkernel multi platform Harmony OS. Their very capable.

Overall
This is a good concept introduced by Microsoft. It's not targeting an average Android phone users. It's more on people who is familiar working with Android, tablet and laptop.
