Windows XP Professional holds 20% of your internet connection speed for several windows services that require internet connection. With a little tweak on Windows XP, you can increase your internet connection speed by 20%.
Here's how:
1. Run Windows Group Policy. Go to Start-> Run-> and type gpedit.msc and press enter
2. Under Local Computer Policy, expand Computer Configuration -> Network then click on QoS Packet Scheduler
3. On the wight tab, double click Limit reservable bandwidth, choose enable and set the bandwidth limit to 0%
4. Apply the setting and restart your computer
You should be able to notice a slightly faster internet browsing.
