Earlier today I did some testing. Install Microsoft Worldwide Telescope on a slower machine ( doesn't even meet the minimum hardware requirement).
Here's the machine specifications
Windows XP SP2
MSI P4M900M motherboard
Celeron 420 1.6GHz,
512MB RAM with 64 MB dedicated to onboard VGA (448 MB left for RAM)
Well, as I expect, it runs without hassle although not as smooth as if you meet the hardware requirement.
As an additional information, this motherboard support Core 2 Duo processor.
If you're really interested in Microsoft WorldWide Telescope , my advise is, try first. If Microsoft WorldWide Telescope doesn't run, then make your decision. To upgrade or not to.
