The uncertain future of Nokia 9 PureView

Nokia 9 PureView entered smartphone market a month ago.

It comes with clean Android One which means the Nokia 9 PureView will received an update for next 3 years.

On the hardware side, screen is P-OLED with Gorilla Glass 5 protection and fingerprint sensor underneath the screen.

The overall design of Nokia 9 PureView is a bit of 2018. HMD didn't apply a notch or cutout on the screen. As a result, the top and bottom bezel still look like a 2018 or even 2017 phone.

Nokia 9 PureView come with 18w fast charging. But the battery capacity's 3320mAh which can be consider small for 2019 smartphone.

The main cameras consist of 5 12MP camera. It's 2 RGB and 3 B/W.

This setup is a bit weird to me. First, the camera arranged in a circle. It looks different but doesn't look impressive either.

The other thing is, why Nokia 9 PureView have more than 1 for exactly the same sensor. 2 for RGB and 3 for B/W. HMD must have a good reason for that.

Ok, here comes the most disappointing part. Most users complaint that the camera app is slow. Not just a bit slow. It sluggish. Like switching one mode to another. It take 1 or 2 second to do that.

The other problem highlighted is the RAW and bokeh mode image processing takes very long time to complete.

There's also other inconsistency reported regarding Nokia 9 PureView camera app.

Many believes that this is mainly software issues and HMD is currently working hard on these issues.

If you're interested in Nokia 9 PureView, it is advisable to wait or a few months ot at least until HMD fixed all the main problems for Nokia 9 PureView
