Microsoft has released Windows Vista SP1 on March 18 2008 to Windows Update. Available in 5 languages English, French, Spanish, German, and Japanese, Windows Vista SP1 can be downloaded through Windows Update(Start Menu, All Programs, and select Windows Update).
If you want to use automatic download (you must turn on Automatic Update on your pc), this update will be available beginning 2nd week of April together with the rest of the languages.
Windows Vista SP1 also available as a stand alone installer for those who prefer manual download. You can manually download Windows Vista SP1 from the Microsoft download Center.

However there willl be a huge difference on file size when you download from Microsoft download Center.

Windows Vista SP1 for x64: 125 MB

Just make sure you backup all your data before installing VISTA SP1.
ReplyDeleteDespite the Microsoft's free support - if you lose your data due to something going wrong with the update, microsoft can't get it back for you.
So backup before you update.
I've insatlled SP1 - seems to be ok for now. but there are some who've reported problems...
