How to open, view or edit .XLSX or .DOCX file with Office 2003.

.xlsx and .docx is the default file extention for excel and words document in Microsoft Office 2007. If someone send you document with .xlsx or .docx, you will not be able to open, view or edit them with Office XP or Office 2003.

To solve this problem, you can follow these step. (you really need an internet connection)

Option 1.
If it's really urgent and the file is not very big, go to zamzar.com, the free online file conversion.
All you need to do is upload your file, choose the file format to convert to, enter your email address and click on convert.
They will send you and email and give you a link to download the converted document. In my experience, it works less than a minute.

Convert xlsx to xls onlineOption 2.
Download and install Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats. This software is for with Office 2000, Office XP and Office 2003. With Office Compatibility Pack, you can open, view and edit .xlsx or .docx Office 2007 document with your Office 2000, Office XP or Office 2003.
