Novatel MiFi 2200 for Verizon Wireless

Verizon Wireless is planning to start selling a Wi-Fi enabled device that lets their customers share Internet connectivity. Developed by Novatel Wireless, MiFi 2200 allows users to share internet connection as long as 1 person is connected to Verizon 3G Wireless network. MiFi 2200 works as a personal Wi-Fi cloud, support up to five Wi-Fi-enabled devices, including notebooks, netbooks, cameras, gaming devices or portable media/MP3 players.
According to Verizon spokeswoman, the device weight is just over 2 ounces and small enough to fit in a pocket. The MiFi 2200 is integrated with internal CDMA and Wi-Fi antennas, security and authenttication. It also comes with rechargable battery that provides up to four hours of active use and 40 hours of standby time on a single charge.

The device is good for people who travel in groups where one person can be connected to Verizon 3G Wireless network while others use Wi-Fi to connect a notebook or other device to the Internet.
