Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program

Apple has announced the Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program.

Information from Apple website said that Apple has determined that under certain conditions the new ultracompact Apple USB power adapter's metal prongs can break off and remain in a power outlet, allowing a risk of electric shock.

They have received reports of detached blades involving a very small percentage of the adapters sold, but no injuries have been reported so far.
The power adapter were supplied together with each iPhone 3G sold in the US, Japan, Canada Mexico and several Latin American countries. The power adapter also sold separately as an accessory.

Latin American countries where adapters were sold with iPhone 3G or as a standalone accessory:
Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru

Latin American countries where adapters were sold only as a standalone accessory:
Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica and Panama

When can you change iPhone 3G power adapter?
The Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program will begin starting Friday, October 10, 2008.

How?
1. Order a replacement adapter via the web . The replacement adapter will ship within 3 weeks.
2. Through Apple Retail Store
